The July 1st Where in the Conejo Contest photo was of the Rosewood Trail. Of correct entrants, Liz was selected at random as the winner of a $25 gift certificate. Congratulations Liz and thanks to all who entered the contest!

The Rosewood Trail in Newbury Park was built in the mid 1990’s, making it a relatively recent addition to COSCA’s catalog of trails. It gets its name from the Rosewood neighborhood at the bottom. From there you can climb about 750′ over 1.5 miles to a bench and picnic table at Angel Vista. There’s a great view to the east of the Channel Islands, and to the north all the way to the Simi Hills.

The slope it climbs faces north so you don’t get the full brunt of the sun; even so there isn’t much shade.

It connects to the Los Robles (West) Trail so it’s easy to make a hike or ride much longer than 3 miles.

Download this 2-page PDF document to learn about an easy 3-mile route to the top and back, and connecting trails to make the route longer.
