Congratulations to Dave Ewing of Camarillo who provided the correct answer and was selected as the winner. Thanks to all who responded!

Albertson Motorway (AKA Albertson Fire Road) climbs three miles through the Lang Ranch Open Space from the east end of Lang Ranch Parkway to China Flat and beyond. Over that distance it gains 1000′ in elevation. The road continues through the old Rocketdyne facility but the public is not allowed there.

China flat is part of the National Parks Service’s holdings in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. It has a loop of trails that is very popular with mountain bikers. (Recently a video was posted that shows the trails at various times after the area was decimated by the Woolsey Fire in November 2018.) China Flat is a meeting place of sorts – trails coming from at least five directions meet there.

Albertson Motorway is also a major connector route. By way of other fire roads and motorways, it connects Lang Ranch in the Conejo Valley to Wood Ranch and other parts of  Simi Valley, and to the Cheeseboro Canyon area via the Cheeseboro Ridge Edison Road.
