Zachary Russell won $25 in the Where in the Conejo photo contest – Congratulations!
The January 1 Where in the Conejo Contest photo was of the Indian Creek Trail. Of the correct entrants, Zachary was selected at random as the winner of a $25 gift certificate. Congratulations Zachary and thanks to all who entered the contest!
The Indian Creek Trail is in Wildwood Park, an open space area where many of the trails drop from the mesa into its canyons. Indian Creek Trail is one of them, and incidentally, it connects directly to two other trails with steps – the 76 Step Trail and Moonridge Trail (the fourth, Lynnmere Trail, is only a quarter mile away). Because of the steps, only a few of which are shown in the photo, this trail is one of the very few in the Conejo Valley that is off limits to equestrians and mountain bikers.
Stairs are not the only distinguishing feature of this trail. The lower half travels beneath a beautiful oak canopy and there is a view on the upper part of Wildwood’s other waterfall, but there is no access to it.
To help you find your way to this trail, we have a new 2-page PDF document that describes an easy route along it, as well as the less-traveled eastern end of the Wildwood Canyon Trail that is beautiful and serene.
All our new trail guides are collected on this single web page to make it easier to find new trails to explore at whatever level of difficulty you like.
